This is a hands-on workshop! Have you ever thought about how you might communicate with others when cellular service doesn't exist? If you've been to a packed concert, hiking in the woods, out on the open water, or otherwise far enough off the beaten path, you've probably already had to face this question head-on. Learn the basics of community-built low-power mesh chat networks like Meshtastic, and how to get the most out of them in the Huntsville area. Don't forget to bring your mesh hardware if you've got it!

Our first annual wardriving competition is in the books! 6 participants hit the streets of Huntsville with Kismet rigs and WiGLE Android setups, capturing over 41,000 unique WiFi networks in just over an hour. JT (.luckypi) took 1st place with 96,445 points and 17,540 BSSIDs, Frank Tysons earned 2nd with 75,193 points and an impressive 57 WEP fossils, and K3rnel5anders won 3rd place for the most creative rig.
